Maintenance schedules

It looks like it will eliminate owner maintainence since each and every service requires vehicle test with BMW specific equipment.
 
This is nothing entirely new. I know my K1200GT had that listed as well, just looking for any trouble codes. If there is no problem ongoing, I can't see the harm in doing everything else yourself later on except that, I can't see where that would really be considered abusive of the equipment like say skipping an oil change or letting your tires get bald.
