K100RS Slipstream Deflector "Inventions" Solved Problems

    Dear K100RS Owners, See pictures

First: I wanted to adjust the wind slipstream deflector angle easily while riding. To do this I bought 2 longish Stainless Metric bolts, 4 metric nuts back to back, 2 stainless washers and 2 snug fitting plumbing tapered "rubber washers." The screw stack when finger tightened would pinch the "wings" on the expensive SLIPSTREAM DEFLECTOR at any angle I wanted and hold it there while I tightened the other screw. This worked even with gloves on. Eventually the wings break off, it swings to the back and buzzes at speed.

Second: I wanted to have a very sturdy adjustable angle that I could adjust while riding. With the leftover longish bolts, some Kayak stretchy "shoelace" cord, two drilled holes, one sawed to become a slot and 4 rubber coated metal washers about 1/4" thick and 4 knots in the cord, I have a rig that I "unhook" over the left screw, add or subtract washers behind the black deflector and then pop the cord into the slot and over the left screw. It stays knotted to the slipstream deflector and the right screw the whole time. The slot is in the fixed windshield. The cord length from one side to the other allows for varying stack heights that all become snug without being hard to "rehook."

I've had more than a few hours on the bike to come up with this.

The package on the left contained 4 rubber coated metal washers that I use as spacers.

The longish screw on the right allows easy slipstream deflector angle adjustments with gloves on.
