"Key" question about a top case

I have a question about my top case.

I sold my R1200RT.....

I am buying another one in about a year.

I still have my top case off the bike.

When I purchase a new R1200RT do I need to order a new lock for the top case at the same time so that it will match my bikes ignition key? Or.....?

Will my local BMW shop do the key match?

Thanks!!!:bikes

Thank you very much.

When the time comes in 8 months I will bring that to their attention.

Dennis - Hang onto a key that fits your present case. When you get the new bike it's easy to re-key your case to the new key, and you won't need a new lock cylinder. Your dealer can do it for you or you can do it yourself - but you must start with the key that now fits the cylinder.
