Kawa Afterthought
I opened the belly of the beast today and checked the valves.... Finally completed all the items on the 24,000 mile maintenance list, (but it took till 28,000 miles) to complete.

So, thanks to everyone who posts to this forum, as I doubt I would have gotten this far without the numerous insights and confidence building that the pro's on this forum provide.
So, now I feel completely comfortable with my new to me 01, K bike, and hope to clock many miles on " Gerti" in the years to come.

BTW, at 28,000, both intake and exhaust valves were at mid range of specs, (intake was at 17.8mm except for one which was closer to 16mm, and exhaust ran at 27.9mm, but well within range..... I logged them all for future reference....
