New Sony Action Vid Cam announced today

JIMSHAW

Ambassador at Large
Sony introduced a new action video camera today, targeting users who might use or be tempted to buy one of the GoPro Hero series, etc.

The features list is impressive, but we won't have any test runs until they start to deliver them, end of September 2012.

There are two models, both HD, wide angle, small, light, and all that. A water tight case seems to be inclded. The $199 model has HDMI output. The $250 model adds WiFi, so you can use your Android or Apple phone as a viewfinder or for playback.

Both models have stereo audio, and adhesive attachment strips.

Here's B&H's catalog listing for the cheap one:

MOA needs to do a film festival.
