    Question 2007 RT rear brake pedal play

    What's the play supposed to be for the rear brake?

    Thanks.

    With the top edge of the footbrake lever to the top edge of the adjusting stop screw at 17..18mm the piston pushrod play at rear brake master cylinder should be 2..3 mm. At least that is what the RepROM says.

    Watch IT close;

    My '07GSA came from factory, the play was wrong! To tight is a frequent new bike phenom, it seems. A road trip, I found mine dragging at times and Iron Horse BMW in AZ found the play(tight) wrongly set. Its a very QUICK change/adjust proceedure once learned. Once set correct, lasts for years without further attention. It just needs some slack in it and remember enough slack to compensate for heat/swelling of the fluid too. I check mine at midday. when its warmest out. Don't know IF the latter is a factor, but? Randy

    Thanks. I installed Suburban peg lowering kit and adjusted the brake and shift levers down to match. Two to three mm, got it.
