Re-painting the engine

Lovin' my CLC!
Has anyone out there any experience with re-painting the engine case black? I am getting my '84 R65 repainted, and while the parts are being painted, I thought I'd see about getting the black repainted on the engine. I have no idea what kind of paint to use, or how it must be applied. If anyone out there has any info, I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks! John ;)
