Going to bavarian mt. Weekend

I'm thinking of riding out to New Mexico from Louisiana for the Bavarian Mt. Weekend. More so if I have a bud to ride with. Anyone interested?

My data: I'm MALE, 54, engineer, non smoker. My style is laid back but I get on the road efficiently in the morning. In other words, I don't start late and then ride like hell all day long. I like both camping and hotels.

My time is flexible and I wouldn't mind starting this a few days early to mess around riding N.M. before the rally. I like to get to the rally EARLY to pick my camp site.

Anyone interested?

Given that you (and others) may be coming from the lowlands and relatively warm temperatures (or are fleeing from Isaac!) . . .Passing along this info, which you may already know. . .

Be advised that Sipapu Ski Area (rally site) is located at a high elevation, and IT CAN BE QUITE CHILLY, EVEN DURING A DAY-RIDE. You can also ROAST in the sun, so you can see that a variety of gear is in-order. Afternoon thunderstorms are the NORM this time of year, and they happen very quickly.

It is very likely to be down-sleeping bag and long-john weather in your tent at night.

This is a small, very friendly rally in a stunning location with fantastic roads to ride.

Hope to see you there.

Memories. . .

Muchas Gracias, Voni! Great to see you (again) at the Rally, and to meet that guy with the same last name as yours. You guys gave a very spontaneous, fantastic, funny, informative presentation -- almost as if you've done it a few times before. . .just a few. Pure MAGIC.

Same time, next year.

Thanks! It was great fun.

Our presentation is different every time so we never know what will come out either! Glad that guy is feeling so very much better.
