"Service" warning reset?

New member
I had my F650GS twin serviced while on a cross country trip and the dealer forgot to reset the "Service" indicator.

Anyone know how I can reset it myself?

Thanks.

Or if your friend, neighbor, acquaintance, club member et alia has a GS911.
There are a few dealers what don't charge for it. It may not be easy to find one of them.

Welcome to the forum Ted. As others have mentioned, a scan tool is needed- OEM or GS 911. I won't hurt anything to leave it on, mine has been on since a battery failure set it off. If you are not familiar with the GS 911, Here is the GS 911 walk-through done by one of our members. Good luck. Gary

Yo... thanks for the quick replys.
I hd a feeling BMW would make re-setting a technical matter. I guess I'll wait and have it reset at the 12,000 mile service.

I wanted to stop at a different dealer on a trip to have them reset it but they refused to reset it as they claimed they would have to do the 6K service on the bike and etc before they were allowed to reset it... :rolleyes :banghead The dealer not in business now...

I have borrowed a GS911 from a friend 4 times now...
