Fingerlakes Rally - Watkins Glen Labor Day Weekend

Withdrew some US$ from the bank account today. Just cancelled the weekend papers. Now I just have to get some work done and start packing...

Drubery, now I feel old since I remember clearly the motorcycle races at Watkin's Glen. Definitely agree with the waterfalls tour. It is amazing.

Holly... age is like cheese, you only get better with it! On that note be sure to go to Hammondsport and visit Dr. Konstantine Frank Wine Cellars (Also known as Vinifera Wine Cellars). If you are going to have some wine and cheese, this winery was central to vinifera grapes being grown in this region.

So I had a work situation today that delays my escape from Wisconsin until Thursday evening. So I will get there later in the day Friday. Was planning to be there for opening of the gates.:mad

Great Time...

Just got home from the Finger Lakes Rally (had to leave early). Another fun one as always! Thanks to all of the Club members for putting on a great time. See you next year.

I agree a nice rally in a very beautiful area. This was my second trip and I will return again.

Finger Lakes

We too, want to thank the Finger Lakes Club for putting on an an outstanding rally year after year. This rally is one of our favourites.

The best was sitting around our campsite and visiting with friends, from just about everywhere in the US and Canada.

Great Rally - Thanks.

Made it back safely to Wisconsin in time to prepare for the Wisconsin BMW Club's Dell Rally this weekend. I had a surprise going through Cleveland, The Blue Angels were performing and I was able to pull off along side the road and watch their last 15-20 minutes of the airshow. Then another surprise, a downpour after having made it through Chicago on I-94 with only having to let up off the accelerator twice for a speed check...

Thanks to the Fingerlakes BMW Club for putting on a great rally. everything was awesome. great dinners, breakfasts and sausages, pizza ... and running of the entire event in general. (...now if I only had a rally decal to add to my side-case...)

I have to agree

that once again the Finger Lakes club put on another spectacular event. :dance The weather even cooperated this year. This club epitomizes what a well-run club that works together can do. There are a lot of other BMW clubs out there that can learn from this one. I am always amazed at how even the kitchen staff is super friendly. Must be something in the local water.... :hungover

That kitchen staff was great, they put out some awesome food, coffee, etc. So well organized as well moving everyone through the chow line. Sunday dinner was interesting as the chow line kept going well past the deadline and it appeared everyone with a ticket was fed just as well as the first in line. Can't say enough about their friendly attitude, always had a smile.

The folks on the gate and registration were awesome as well.

One of the interesting rally descriptions I heard from a multi-year attendee, "...When you leave, If you didn't know the rally ended each year, coming back the next year, it is like it never ended, just keeps going..."
