I have a 99 GS with bad motor from oil site glass pop out. can anyone tell me if a 03 R1100S motor will fit?

I think the case and crank are the same. You'll run into incompatibilities in the top end (exhaust header attachment, for instance).

Gs motor

Thx, yeah mike over at beemerboneyard said only gs/r/rs/rt will work, so if anyone runs across one with less than 32k please let me know.

:) try LKQ. They often have a bunch of motors on eBay. I'm sure that if you contact them directly, they might be able to source one for you.

The 1100 and 1150 are different. The exhaust header on the 1150 is a different shape and uses 3 studs not 2. Since the bore is different, I do not think 1100 heads fit 1150 easily.

I have a 99R1100GS and going back with R1100RT motor, unless I find a GS motor with low miles.
