    Repainting, Pinstriping

    Hey all,

I am getting ready to have my 1975 R90/6 repainted. I am trying to come up with options. One thing I could do would be to just have my local painter do the job. I could remove all the parts and just bring them to him.

My problem then becomes how to have the pinstriping done. Any suggestions?

Also, any suggestions on whether it makes sense to send the parts to someone that specializes in painting and pinstriping Airheads? I don't mind sending the parts off if you all think it is a better idea.

And if you all know of any folks that specialize in repainting and pinstriping in the Ohio (where I live), Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia or Pennsylvania area, please let me know and maybe I can take them to that shop.

    Thanks much!

The premiere BMW painter is in Athens, OH. Holt BMW:

Pricey, but if you live reasonably close, you'd save on shipping. Or you could buy the paint mixed by him and have someone else do the painting.

Lots of paint threads...even some good painters here on the forum...I'm sure they'll have suggestions.

I had a local guy prep & paint mine; tank & both fenders for $325.
Got the old BMW paint code here: http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/paintcodes.htm
May pinstripe down the road but happy with this for now.
Good luck & wanna see some pics when you get done!

Tell us where you are? I posted here a month or so ago for a pinstriper near me in E. KY & got zero. I do my own paint work , just never hand striped. I'm getting too old to be very entrepreneurial(or I'd paint your stuff reasonably) but I my friend (& several others near by) that has a full time shop would happily paint your fenders & tank for a lot less than the prices I see in this thread. Not dissing the pros that specialize either!
I want to know contact for the pinstriper in Austintown, OH mentioned?
