R1100RT another Fuel line disconnect question

Dadrider

Still a learning newbie !
I am going to change the plastic disconnects on the right side. Is it recommended that I change the one at the fuel tank also. Is there another disconnect there or are the 2 lower ones all that I need to concern myself with.

Dad.

Not that it really matters, but those are not stock on your bike. Do you have one on each line? Are they functioning? If so, why change them?

There is no QD at the fuel tank on a stock bike.

If you decide to change them, BeemerBoneyard sells a nice metal set. They're a little pricy, but they're trick!

Fuel disconnect on 1200 GS same as RT

I'm changing the fuel disconnect on my 2006 1200 GS and I assume the RT has the same cute little clamps that the 1200 GS has. How do I remove those clamps without having to purchase a $60 tool to do it. Just cut them off? Can I also assume I can replace with 16 MM screw type clamps? Jon

I just pry them open or cut them off with a dremel wheel.

You should use 5/16" fuel injection clamps instead of the screw-type clamps.

Jim, thank you for the response. Ok, can I get the 5/16th fuel injection clamps at the local Checker auto? Or someplace else.
