D'OH!
Anybody ever seen or heard of the Defiant Scooter? I saw it recently in a thread on the Boxerworks forum and fell in love with it. The Defiant can be built from a frame kit and a 1987-2003 H-D Sportster donor-bike, from which the drivetrain and suspension are used. I figure I can put a pretty wild one together for under $10K.
The bodywork shown in the photo is unfortunately NOT commercially available- that's a fibreglass prototype put together by none other than Craig Vetter, who had a lot to do with the design of the Defiant. It is simply an idea of the possibilities. I don't know how to shape metal or mold fibreglass or even weld, so any bodywork on mine will probably be rough and angular. Hmmmm, maybe something totally in diamond-tread plate...
I can also see hot-rodding it too- VERY SCARY!
