I own 2002 K1200LT ,I have problem with my final drive (ratio 33/12).I find one from 2006 K1200LT ,and I notice the ratio is difrent (34/13).Can I use this final drive on my 2002 ??

I am not sure if the ratio is a big deal, but I thought there was some other issue with the brake system that made this rather difficult. You may want to go over to the BMW 1200LT website and post your question. Someone there will answer PDQ. Rick H.

The ratio should be no big deal, but I thought there was some other brake or sensor issue that could cause a problem for you. You may want to ask your question on the bmwlt.com website. Someone there will answer up PDQ to your question. Rick H.

If yours is a 2002 USA model it should be the same. In USA the 1999 to 2001 years used the same FD & have the speed sensor in the FD and also have Brembo on the brake caliper.

Old Style Verses New Style

If you install the new style on a 2001 or older LT you won't have a speedometer & the cruise controll won't work.

If you install the old style on a 2002 or newer LT you will have to plug the speed sensor hole so the FD gear oil won't leak out.

The difference in gearing is about 300 rpm in 5th gear with the old style being 300 rpm less.
