Not knowing the internal design of the gas tank, the question is simply-when filling with gas does it make any difference whether the petcock is set to normal or reserve?
Would you run for a short period with the setting on reserve to get rid of "stale gas', or does all gas flow through that part of the tank anyway? tia

The Airhead tank has a cross section of an inverted "U" with a petcock at the bottom of each side. Each petcock has two input tubes, the long one for "normal" and the short one for "reserve". This allows crap to settle to the bottom of the tank and not be drawn into the fuel system. Hope this helps visualize things.

and, as has been implied, it is one single large container.
if you were on reserve, flip to "on" so that you have a reserve to work with after a few more hours of riding. otherwise, you might find yourself pushing the bike to the next gas station.
