Ladies,
I'm working on an idea and need your input. How many of you currently ride off road or have an interest? If so, please post here.

Just posted this in One Day Ride Picture:

The Wenatchee National Forest and many many miles of USFS roads/trails to play on are right in my backyard.

My baby GS and the 250cc dirt bikes are waiting for the snow to melt so we can go out and play and they can prove to me that i don't know squat diddly about riding off road. :D

I'm hoping to get the hang of it before the USFS closes access to the aforementioned roads. :cry

Defintately got the interest! Just need the bike. I won't give up my R1200R so I may have to sell plasma! Or have a bake sale!

I was told about a web site about women dirt bike riders, Dirty Girls. The only one I found was a porn site!

I took the MSF one day off-road course last year and a friend (female) and I are interested in riding the Trans-Wisconsin Adventure Trail (mostly unpaved) that goes from the southern border of Wisconsin/Illinois to the northern tip of Wisconsin at Lake Superior.... maybe this year!
:dunno

I've done a little off road, not extreme by any means - more packed gravel/tarmac. I took a one day RawHyde intro offered thru a local dealer, and got a lot out of it...especially raising my confidence level. Considering the BMW course at the Spartansburg facility, but not able to make it work with my schedule right now.

So the short answer is YES.

Well, here's why I'm asking....

As you may know, the GS Giant competition began last year and has becoem a huge success. As a result of the fun, challenges, and new friendships, we have become a charter club. Our Facebook page is active and we are about to launch our website. Regional events are planned throughout the country and of course, we will have a Gypsy Tour and events in conjunction with the rally in Sedalia.

There were a very few women involved last year and we'd like to see more. One thing we are promoting above all else is that the GS Giant is not strictly for those with great skill. It's about fun and challenges and developing or improving your skills.

This year, I am working to put together a women's/couples (2up or not) off road adventure. Guys with little experience are also welcome. This will be a "lite" adventure ride for those newly initiated to adventure riding.

This is all in the preliminary planning stages but we are kicking around some great ideas. Stay tuned to the GS Giant - Mo Bigga! Mo Betta! thread or "like" THEGSGIANTS facebook page.

Tracy, I took the dirt bike MSF class with my 10 year old last Spring and loved it. Then I watched you all have fun last year at the GS events and had big time longing to have a GS.

So I found the shortest 650gs I've ever seen and bought it. I managed to make the Tomah gathering and that was about it. Now waiting for Spring.

Rally for sure but Chuck and Julie are talking me into volunteering for the rally so I'm not sure how much time I would have to play.
What's the dates for Gypsy tour?

That's a very good idea and am glad to hear this is being done.

Hi All,

I've been riding in the dirt around home for a long time, but I tend to "cow-trail"---just puttering along on the only dirt bike I have left, a 1966 BSA Victor. We're both a bit older, and a bit worn, and aren't into slamming corners and hopping trees.....

I sold both Matchless G80's, and my AJS single, because they were just too heavy, but the little BSA is very light for a four-stroke, and I like it.

I've ridden with friends, but never in an organized group---my off-road time has been a sort of quiet reflection/watch the scenery sort of ride. Since it's come up, though, I guess I need to refurbish the little Beezer and get her ready for riding in the foothills of the Cascades. (Her name is "Britney", because she is a Brit, and if her timing isn't spot-on, kickstarting her hurts my "Ney" (knee).....

So now I have yet another project, right behind the R75/6...
