Resistor needed for LED tail lights 12RT, 09

I put two LED on my tail light and now the yellow triangle icon is lidup on the computer dashboard display--indicating the tail light is out.

Apparently, this is due to the low draw from the LED compared to the candensent bulb.

Does anyone know what exact resistor I can put in there to make that warning light go out on the dashboard?

I don't know the exact value of resistor you - my comment is regarding placement.

Whatever type of resistor you use will give off heat, so ensure that you place it with enough clearance of other wireharnesses and in flow of adequate cooling.

I don't know exactly but I had the same problem when I connected a trailer with LED lights to my Mercedes SUV. I had a hard time finding any info on the web or from the manufacturer. I am trying 220 ohms.

The superbright website recommends 6 ohms. That is a 2 amp draw, same as a 21W bulb (roughly). It will get hot. I would try 60 ohms (5Watt) and see if that's enough. If not, drop in half.

If you go with the 6 ohm 50 W resistor, make sure to mount it where the heat isn't a problem. It will get hot.

Hopefully someone has done this experiment and knows the number.
