Vibration

At about 70mph coming up a long, fairly steep grade; 6th gear; tach @ 3500; a sudden vibration.
It felt like a front end shudder, but I'm not sure of that.
I slowed and vibration/shudder left.
On the next straight away (no grade) I hit 70 again, this time in 5th gear. Same vibration.
I tried it one more time in 6th gear and it did not repeat. I did not go above 75. I was not brave enough.
I plan on taking it to my dealer, in the meantime I'd welcome your thoughts.

Lots of possibilities. It could have been combustion imbalance from missing in the engine. The one thing I would have them check for sure is the condition of the driveshaft universal joints. That seems early mileage wise but ....

I went out today and tried my best to replicate the vibration issue. I could not. Same conditions, same road and all went well. I think I will simply wait until it happens again to take it to a pro, unless Paul thinks drive shaft universal joints are enough of a likelihood to warrant checking.

If it doesn't replicate it must have been a miss in the engine. Driveline imbalance as in U joint wear will replicate regularly if the conditions are the same.

Put it on the centerstand and spin the rear wheel. Bad u-joints are painfully obvious. By "painfully" I mean it sounds like dollars fleeing your wallet.
