Want flat profile tires

I have a '83 R100 sidecar rig, have Avon SM mark II tires.4.00x18 and 3.50x19.These tires seem good, but what are the alternnitives. From actual experence only please, thank you.

Sidecar Tires

I guess I'll answer my own question.Checked the net and found that Avon makes a Tripple Sidecar 3.50 X 19 for the front but no like tire for the rear, but Metzeler makes a flat profile tire called a K Block.I think I'll try this combination next. Both look flatter than the Avon SM Mark II's.

I was running the same tire on the front of my bike as on the hack and a car tire on the rear. I put a K Block on the hack two years and 17K miles ago. I'll get another year easy.
I'd put on on the front of the bike but the profile prohibits it as it hit the fender.
No complaints other than it's tubed.

It seems Motorcycle Superstore no longer carries the K Block.

Just the AVON Sidecar Tire.

I ran the Avon Tripple duty Sidecar 3.50 X 19 on a GL1000 rig. Worked fine and wore well.

Hey GrafikFeat

I'm not quite clear on your post, exactly what tires are on your hack and bike. You mentioned car tire on the back,is this on a nonstock rim.I have Lesters 3.50 x 19 up front and 4.00 x 18 on the back, sputnic side which uses 4.00 x 18 also. The Avon SM MCII 3.50 x 19 rubbed at the top of the front fender bolts so I raised the stock front brace/fender bracket 3/8 inch. Did you mean the Avon tripple front tire rubbed,an if so was at the sides and or the top. Thank You !

I confuse people... It ain't you... :D

I have a Ural on R1200C.

The front tire is a Pirelli MT66... Which I also had on the sidecar. As it was modified to accept the front rim to facilitate 'rotating' the tires.
Once I put the K Block on the hack rotating was impossible as the square shoulder hit the fender. It's not adjustable on a "C".

The rear tire is a car tire on the stock 15" rim.

R100

GrafikFert,Thanks for all the IRRELEVAVT data.I'm happy you like your bike but I have a stock 1983 R100,as stated, and I'm still interested if the Avon tripple duty 19x3.50and the Metzler K block fit on a stock '83 R100.

Well... (holding tongue) the K Block is 18 X 4.00.
You asked if anyone used it. At least that's that I got out of your question.
I do use it. Just not on a R100.
You do the RELEVAVT Math.

But don't worry. I'll let you answer your own question again and leave it at that.

Sidecar Rig Tires

I have used the Metzeler Block K 3.50x18 for 25 years on two rigs, both front and back. It gives good mileage and good road traction. I have also used the Avon Safety Mileage 3.50x18. It is not marketed for sidecar use, but does well. It is more expensive than the Metzeler. My current rig, a 1987 K100LT with Hannigan sidecar, has a Metzeler on the front and automotive radials on automotive rims on the back and sidecar. Your back rim appears to be a motorcycle rim. I have heard that that is not a safe practice. Your call.
