The bend at the end of the cable is is at the carb end. Pretty common weak point. Yep. new cable. Will have Leo reinforce this area to help prevent this problem. This is a common to airheads. The cables come into the carb body at about a 45 degree angle, it doesnít take long for that bend in cable becomes permanent. Again almost impossible to properly tune the bike with these worn out parts.

Another view of the bend and deformation of the cable. Thank goodness that Airheads are simple by choice.
I know take some needle nose pliers and straighten it out. Naw, new cables.

Yes, noticed the small amount of gear lube on the throttle tube and gear. Will add plenty during reassembly. Nothing will ruin a ride like a malfunctioning stiff throttle assembly. Your right wrist knows immediately.

A buddy of mine sent me 2 pics of a 1978 R100RS he recently acquired. Nice. I really like the 2 tone red paint scheme.

The S was added to his Ď91 R100, which is actually a rare model to the US.

I guess the two tone red scheme is actually Smoke Red. The gold pin stripes kinda hid the smoke paint scheme. Any way the bike is gorgeous. Iím sure itís a great bike to ride.

    Ď94 r1100rs-2010/11

The first Oilhead was the Ď94 R1100RS. Here with big lid system cases, RT trunk, hand guards, headlight cover, bigger rear fender on the front fender. This guy knew his bidness. Wouldnít surprise me if he had a Staintune exhaust system and a mapped out fuel/air system.

    Happy Days Ridden My Bikes

Yep, happy days for me. Back then I lived on my motorcycles. The RS, the K100RT, the R90/6. I rode solo, with a couple of local BMW clubs, a couple of local biker groups, a few patch clubs. I just wanted to ride; so it was rides, runs, rallies. Life was good and and riding my bikes was center stage. Thatís why I was smilen.

The Flip-a-lever was a nice little add on, the heated grips gave me warm hands in cold weather. The best addition to this bike is top self shocks. I went with Ohlins; good choice. Along with good rubber, the two best upgrades for this bike.
