Hybrid Thread

Thx, Marc; for the reply, remarks and comments. This thread has undergone some changes since it was started a few years ago. Currently, I’m down with a bad Sinus Infection. Taking medication. In this area U go to the minor medical and ask for a Sinus Cocktail. The nurse practitioner came in with my medical records. Ya want a cocktail. Yep. Coming right up. You get it in the butt/hip. Ouch! Over to the pharmacy, then home to bed; totally exhausted, tired, and whipped. More on the thread later. No bike riding today, maybe tomorrow.

krazyhank, I used to wonder about this thread. At first it seemed odd, but over time I have come to enjoy keeping up with Barry. Paul is right, it is Barry's chat with us page. I always check it out.

Makes sense now. Thanks for the clarification

Out & About

Working on spoke wheels on my ‘75 R90/6. My buddy Leo has been checking the trueness of rims, spokes, and wheel bearings properly lubed. I took new tires and tubes over to be mounted and balanced. Stopped in at Performance Plus in Memphis for a tube. Took a few pics of bikes on the showroom, while there.

Got the stuff delivered to Leo. Looked over the hedge at Tom Race’s garage, then heard a cool bike starting up. Tom Race was firing up his mid 60’s Honda Hawk. Tom said it was their official Hawk touring model.

Followed Tom down to wine time. On the way, looked into Nick’s Woodard’s garage. I see he’s working on his green /5.

U know the usual. Put the junk on the street for the city garbage truck to pick up. It set there for a couple of days. I’m an old scraper/junker; finally ambled over and looked in the box. Rummaged through the box and
pulled this out.

XL, tried it on; perfect fit. Will be wearing it this winter. Can I borrow an old HD Knucklehead or an Indian 4?:brow

The Japanese motorcycle industry was on a fast learning curve; as was the whole of their industries in the 1960’s. Their country was growing industrially and internationally at an exponential rate.

Back in the early 60’s going to the local stores, I would see Japanese products on the shelves. I remember people kinda smirking and laughing usually commenting on how cheaply and shoddy they looked. By the 70’s that all changed. They had caught up.

Ride to the National - through Arkansas

A lot of rally goers will be entering Arkansas at West Memphis, Arkansas on I-40/I-55; heading to Mo. I always recommend the Ar./DOT state map. The AHTD state welcome center address is 704 North Service Road West Memphis, Arkansas 72301. 870 735 3637 hours 7AM-5PM. It’s just past the Southland Casino. I generally recommend getting a couple. I cut’em to size to fit my tank bag. Well actually; Ya’ll already know the deal.:brow
