I envy you guys. I made a table lamp and birdhouse in "shop" in high school in 1961.

    Picking Pecans

    8CED6524-EED2-4E10-B08A-5A6532BEA8FE.jpeg
One of my holiday projects. In walking distance from the house. Done gave away about half this amount.
Kathy, my lady friend knew what to do with some of them.

    I'm a little jealous...

We had an unusually DRY summer this year, and my pecan trees didn't produce. No pecans for me...

Sad news my friend. The pecan trees in my area produce good about 1 in 3 years. Maybe next year yours will produce good.

Turning a Taper on a Lathe

Got to the machine shop a little late. Practiced turning a taper on the lathe. Offset the tailstock to get taper.

Really need the lathe taper attachment to do this job.

    Tail Stock Offset

Here U see the off set of the tailstock of the base or by the two scribed lines. The two scribed lines lined up is when the tailstock is lined up in the usual true placement setting.

    Tailstock Scale

Most lathes have this scale at the rear of the tailstock. The one I was using didnít have the scale, so I kinda made my own. Taking a break from the handle and work on the hammer head. Most folks are familiar with the claw hammer. The ball peen hammer is the one used in machine shops.
