    Frogg Toggs

In the closet digging for gear found a green bag that was falling apart.

Out fell the rain gear. I remember now.

The bag was gone, but the gear still looks good to use. Looks like Frogg Toggs is still in business, with a lot of different types of gear for sell.

    More Gear

My plan is to ride thru the winter. No, not every day. Iíll pick my spots. Here the winters are generally considered mild. It seems we get a lot of cold rain, fog, mist, general dampness, frost. We get are share of freezing rain, some snow, road ice, etc.. But in between we get some fall like sunny days of decent riding. But, it gets cold with the short sunny days and the long cold nights. Gotta get out early to enjoy the day rides. At the same time the long dark cold nights, gotta have good warm gear, bike has to have good lighting and visibility, for the dark ride home. On my list, getting a high viz outer vest to wear over the black leather.

    Good Feature

A couple of the gloves had a good feature, being able to latch the gloves together when not being worn.

I try to keep my gloves dry in the rain, impossible. Somewhere I got or did have rain boot covers. I suggest U get 2 sizeís bigger than than what fits perfect at the store. When U putíem on on the side of the road in a rain storm, U wantíem going on quick. I donít care if their goofy looking being to big. I wantíem going on and Iím back on the bike riding. Loose fitting rain bootís are another option. U already look goofy riding in hard steady rain. Get the gear on and get to riding.

Two types, both good eating; shelled and eaten raw. Time for cooking up a pecan pie.

The weather was nice, went back and got another can of the small pecans. Their the size of marbles, but they taste great.

Bout to wrap up harvesting the pecans, yesterday was the big day. Under the trees, it was raining pecans. Got hit quite a few times on the head, back and neck. Just, donít look up. A few even landed in my bucket.

    Back to Gear

Gettiní gear together, looking for glove liners. As usual, found one; whereís the other. Looked everywhere; which is the same as no where. Checked all the pockets on all my gear. Just one glove. Why me? . Started checking saddle bags. No, no, not in any of them. Really gave up. Then I noticed a bag hidden under more junk. Whatís the chance, that glove is in there. The bag had a key in tumbler. Open it and the bag was full gear and out fell the glove liner. Unbelievable.

Do glove liners really make a difference in keeping your hands warm?

    Cold Weather Gear

I think so. Old school layering. Iím planning on riding the bike all thru the winter. All things considered Arkansas is generally considered rather mild in winter. But there are periods of really cold snaps, with the short daylight hours and long winter nights, itís cold at night. So no Iím not planning on riding every day, but I do plan on riding as much as possible; when the weather allows. Iím working on some more clothing gear and bike gear to help keep me warm.
