Just got back. It was just what I needed. Nice easy going ride over. Felt good to be back in the saddle. Road my '94 R1100RS and it purred like a kitten. I think it needed out for spin to stretch it's legs as much as I did. Lots of bikes out every where. Everyone had the same idea, get out and ride. Bikers waving back and forth, it was a never ending meet and greet going down the road. Got to the chow house first, got off and stretched my legs. Then the others started showing up. It was your basic family BMW club monthly reunion. Think we had about 30 in attendence. Got a rib plate, and filled up. Hit the spot. Got thru the meeting, mostly stuff about the RAMS directory and Return to Shiloh Rally. Back outside, every one was taking off in all directions. Got to talking with Paul Witworth, our club sec/trea., he said he was up for a little Ride. Rode over to see the Shake Rag. Recently burned down. It's been the Memphis go to weekend biker hangout for 30 years. Sad to see it like that. We took off for Mayor's Cove about 5 minutes away. Got there and they had a good crowd, due to no Shake Rag. Mayor's Cove has the look of, if you don't have a gun or knife, they issue you one at the door. Had a couple of cold ones, then headed back toward Memphis on the back roads. Took Paul by the Charles Limbergh monument, and had our history moment. After we split up, had a nice put back to the house. Just what I needed,a nice ride. Forgot to mention, at the meeting, I won one of the prize drawings The Ride is On, BMW dvd. Think I'll watch it now.

I noticed that on my ride over to and back from the meeting that my riding skills had diminished somewhat from a 2 month lay off from riding. Hopefully with the coming of some decent weather and some saddle time, I'll get back up to speed, and my riding skills will return to their normal razorsharp ability.

Just got back from the Rams meeting. Good ride over. Had to stop and put on another layer for warmth. Good to see everyone. Had probably 6 members of the Naturally Beemers show up and camp out. They had a pretty bunch, 25, for the campout and meeting. They survived a pretty tough storm front that came thru Thursday nite. Stopped outside the park and went to an almost unknown Civil War War Site. Wittsburg. The place were about 5000 Ark. Confederate soldiers surrendered at the end of the war. Good easy day of riding.

Peterbeatrice, The Naturally Beemers have their rally in Morrilton, Ar. The Natural State Rally, May 16-18 more info in the Owners's News. The BMWRAMS have 2 monthly meetings/campouts in Ar. April12-14 Wynne,Ar. and May10-12 in Marble Falls, Ar. at the Hubb. The BMWRAMS have their own website with more info. You would be welcome at any of these events. Let me know if you need more info. I also know some excellent riding roads that cross the state of Ar. from west to east if your interested. Most of the roads in east Ar. are flat farmland. West Tn. has some nice pastoral type of roads, but nothing really outstanding.

    WindBlownAmyakaMsPresident

Was over at Barnes@Noble the other day. Lookin thru the motorcycle mags and came across Rider with an article entitled Riding Around WindblownAmy, Artist, rider, survivor. Nice article on Amy. 20 years ago she was a member of the Naturally Beemers and a past president of the club. Last I heard she had move back home to Ohio. Glad to she was still alive and riding. This article had her up in Alaska still riding a BMW sidecar hack. Has a picture of her with her MOA 200,000mile placque/award. Good for her. I see she's still the artist. Back in the day, I bought a stack of her greeting cards with BMW motorcycles drawn on them. I meant to mail them out to friends, but I liked them so much I couldn't part with them. 20 years ago I was headed west to the Indian Nations Rally in Oklahoma on I-40 and came up behind her on her side car 'Rigadoon'. She exited off and came to a stop. I pulled up behind her to find out what was going on. shesaid her bike wasn't running properly. I think I adjusted her valves and points and got her going. We rode on to the rally. Glad to see she's still alive and kickin and riden.

How are the club members handling COVID distancing measures at these group ride to eat functions? The ride sounds fun. The group dining not so much.

    Alabama Ride and Eat

Looks like a good ride to eat. Time to get back to living life and riding bikes. Thx for the heads up. Feel free to post any updates. We're adults here, we can make adult decisions. Wear the masks and socially distance and abide by the local covid laws. I think it's about 400 miles one way, kinda iffy about making the ride. If U have a local motel or camping area for attendees, feel free to post them. Again thx for the heads up and invite.

I agree. Just got back from a 80 mile round trip to Wynne, Ar.; to get my 1st Vaccine shot. I remember the late 50’s getting all my shots to attend kindergarten. Back then, it was measles, whooping cough, polio, small pox. If I remember correctly.
