I have been lurking for a while but finally decided to toss in a few words.

Bought a gently used 2004 K1200GT a couple years ago and have put close to 40k on it so far. (1 rear drive unit too). Have ridden for 38 years, raced a bit, have over 750k - closer to 1 million miles on various machines. Had I known before what I know now, this would not be my first BMW.

I love the bike, love how it handles, love how smooth it is, love the way it looks ... just wish I could make tires last more than 4,000 miles ... but then, I think that may more be how I ride it than the bike itself.

Have added a Russell Seat, Ohlins rear and Wilburs front shocks, Remus Pipe, and various gadgets and gizmos for that personal touch.

I know a few of you from other forums, looking forward to know more of you.

Welcome to the club! Nice bike. I guess you know your tire dealer well. Glad to have you here.
