After lots of frustration with the dim running and brake lights on the K75, I installed some LEDs, which of course lit up the dash. This was frustrating, because while I want bright lights back there, I also wanted the low energy demand.
So the decision was whether to remove the controller for the dash, which would remove the lit up dash, or install resistors with the LEDs. While the resistors would remove the information about whether the LEDs were working, resistors would not interfere with the ABS pre-check function. The resistors were from V-LEDs and were about $7 per pair. The only word of caution is that the wire splicers were crap and not cutting the existing wire insulation, so I thought at first that the resistors were not performing the desired function. But when I noticed the insulation was not working, Posi-Taps were installed and all went as desired.
So the running and brake lights are very satisfactory, and the check light comes on and turns off as it always has.
In the "for what it's worth" department.
