Just saying hey to everyone.

I recently relocated from Alpharetta, GA to Scottsdale, AZ.

The weather here is great( for now) and I saw so many people on bikes I had to get back into riding.

This is my first BMW cycle, and I started with a 2010 F650gs Twin, dark met. blue. I was thinking it would be a good size for short day trips, a little dirt / off road trails and see if it leads to something else. Just getting it broken in, it had 450 miles on it from the previous owner.

I have been riding over 30 years on and off, dirt and street, with hondas, cb750 four, hodaka( super rat) anyone remember those? kawasakis, yamaha, but the last three were a gold wing, road king and triumph thunderbird triple. I don't think the overly large touring bikes were useful for me then, but I have some big plans for some trips in the west. Maybe Alaska, but may need to go a little larger, we will see.

Enjoying the beautiful weather and hope to get out and about more in the coming weeks.:thumb

These forums are really useful and I look forward to the membership.

Hello,

I am in Scottsdale too. See me on my candy cane R1200S today? I'll be commuting with it tomorrow too.

I've been here almost 30 years, newcomer!

If you would like to go for a ride with BMW MOA Club #89 AZ Beemers on 1/26, all of the information is in the link above. I am friends with AZ-J, fellow Club Member.

I also ride a F650GS Twin, just rode Mexico's Copper Canyon for a two week trip.

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=638662 Here is our Ride Report over at Adventure Rider. My silver BMW F650GS Twin "Salma Hayek" performed great in some really rough riding situations. Wish she was 100 lbs. lighter for our seven river crossings and the sandy sections, but all in all mi Salma did a fantastic job of tackling Barrancas del Cobre, MEX!

You need to put Salma on a diet, Snr., if you want her 100 lbs. lighter :thumb

Thanks for the welcome. I hope to meet the local guys and do some rides soon. Sure wish that ride coming up was a Saturday not a wednesday.

Haven't seen the candy cane around town yet but I have seen it on other posts on this site.

It looks like everyone enjoyed themselves on the Mexico trip. Great post and pics.
