zumo 220

lamtha

location,los angeles
i just bought a zumo 220,and i see there is no audio port to connect to j&m helmet headset,it,s only bluetooth.is there an adapter to get the voice from the mini usb of the zumo to a 3.5 mm audio jack.the zumo 550 has an audio jack.
regards: Peter

i know that , there is no port for jack.but like any 5 pin mini usb, one or two of the pins carry the audio.so i,m asking if anybody has come across this problem.
i can't believe that garmin decided that it's not important.

Exchange or return it then if its not what you want.

I have a 660 and love it. I just updated the map for it using my Lifetime Maps, too.

You could probably use the Jabra BT3030 dog tag and plug your com system into it...

Also, remember that just because a "standard connector" (in this case a mini USB) provides for the use of certain pins for audio, it does not guarantee that manufacturer has actually implemented them for audio!

OK. here's what i'm gonna do.i'll invest $5.00 on an adapter, 5 pin mini usb to a 3.5mm female audio jack.i don't have high hopes, but who knows. before i send it back, i have to know. i'll exchange it with a 550 or 650.
although i like the price and size of the 220.
i'll let you know the result.
thank you. Peter

I haven't tried the recent Bluetooth headsets for music, but they sure are more convenient than wired headsets. It's really a PITA to walk away from your bike while still plugged in.

If you remove your Helmet when you stop, you won't have that problem.LOL My problem is trying to walk away with my Gerbings pluged up
