Airheads Pennsylvania SuperTech

Feb 4 thru 6, 2011 Pennsylvania Airhead SuperTech (PA)

The Pennsylvania Airheads will hold our SuperTech event again this winter in Boyertown, PA 19525 (about 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia, PA). The best ever. This will be a weekend filled with airhead tech sessions and multi-media expert advice and experience as well as some great camaraderie. Training sessions will cover how airhead systems and components work, how to maintain and overhaul them, how to get out of trouble on the side of the road and how to keep these great bikes safe and reliable. Sessions will mostly focus on the ÔÇÿlaterÔÇÖ airheads from /5 through end of production. We will have our complete collection of component cutaways and demonstration units as well as some new cutaways and new session topics for 2011. We'll probably bring back some old favorites too.

The very special guest, and keynote speaker at the Saturday night banquet, will be one of the great airhead teachers and supporters of airhead owners, Robert Fleischer. Yes, Snowbum is joining us this year to teach and answer questions and just help us have fun. Anyone who has been around airheads and the ABC for any amount of time knows how much he supports the Airlist and how valuable the articles on his website http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/ are. He is a great giver and a great guy who loves BMW Airheads and he will bring his experiences, his wisdom and his knowledge to Boyertown this year. We are excited for the opportunity to learn from him and to get to know him.

We will gather for lies and tire kicking on Friday night for those arriving early and the tech sessions will begin at 8:00am on Saturday morning, running all day. Training sessions will cover how systems and components work, how to maintain and overhaul them, how to ÔÇ£git out of trouble on the side of the roadÔÇØ and how to keep these great bikes safe and reliable. WeÔÇÖll bring in lunch then finish the teaching day around 5pm. The banquet dinner that evening will start around 6:00 for tire kicking time with Bob and the other instructors, then dinner and Snowbum's fascinating presentation.

Sessions will begin again Sunday morning and activities will conclude by noon so everyone will be able to travel home that afternoon. This will be a unique opportunity to get valuable maintenance, trouble shooting and restoration knowledge and to defeat the winter doldrums and PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome). Great info, great camaraderie and great time with world famous airhead experts.

Our goal is to maximize the value and access to the instructors for those attending so only 60 slots are available for SuperTech. Attendance is on a pre-registration basis only. Fees for the weekend will be: $111 for Airheads Beemer Club members and $131 for non-members. Fee includes all tech sessions, coffee and donuts each morning, Saturday lunch and the banquet dinner.

Limited seating is available for spouses at the banquet for an additional $41 per head. (A very nice affair and there are many things for spouses to do here in Pennsylvania while you are at the Tech sessions). In past years we have had numerous spouses join us Saturday evening.

Registration opens December 1st, 2010. Send a check for the total amount made out to Robert Sipp at 2188 Johnston Ave, Bethlehem, PA 18015. Please include, typed on a separate sheet, your name, address, phone number, email address and ABC membership number to facilitate contacting you with further details. Bob can be reached at bmwbob@ptd.net if needed, but only received checks will count. ItÔÇÖs only fair to everyone. Once the max participant number is reached we will hold further checks on a standby list and return them after the weekend has completed. We have always gone to the standby list so its worth the wait.

We will be supplying further details regarding motel and airport info, maps, schedules and driving directions to folks after they register. Please do not drag your feet on this one. This event has sold out quickly in past years and slots may again fill up fast. We look forward to seeing you there and having a great weekend together.

Supertech is a premier Airhead event that will teach most folks in a weekend what they can't figure out for themselves in a lifetime. Don't miss it unless it's impossible.

Paul, couldn't agree with you more! Anyone out there that has not attended this event should seriously consider making it happen. The PA Hedz are a great group, Todd, Bob and others put on an absolutely incredible event. My wife and I flew out last session (2010) and it was worth the effort.

I'm sick I won't be able to attend this year - total knee replacement on December 9th will not allow me to travel in an airborn sardine can for +6 hours.

The cut-aways are worth the price of admission alone. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you guys again in 2012!

-Mike V.

I also concur. Having lived in NE PA and been around the airheads there and have known Todd for for a few years, I can tell you that it is one great event and Todd and the members there know their stuff. Wish I could also attend.

Hey guys

dont be to effusive with your praise! I want to make sure that i get my registration in this year!! :kiss :kiss.

Mike, et al,

Agree with everything which has been said about SuperTech!! It is THE place to learn about our Airheads. I'm looking forward to gaining considerable knowledge from the "masters" about the current /6 project.

Mike sorry you can't come this year, your help with the Bing rebuild this summer was very valuable! Now about these 32mm I'm rebuilding for the /6 . . . . . . .:brow

?

So, it's in February, I live in Massachusetts, will I be ignored due to my wimpiness if I don't ride down?

We wouldn't of blamed you last year. Some people couldnt' even fly in. :whistle

Helplessly Hoping

Hmmmm... I am on the standy list for SuperTech this year and had resigned myself to likely not going. But the snow, the snow, the snow

I don't wish anyone grief, but I hope you are all checking with your airlines:eat

+1 on SuperTech being THE event.

Since it sells out every year and this one in 4 days or something crazy like that, perhaps it could be expanded or a mid-Jan weekend followed by a mid-Feb weekend to allot more seats. I too missed out this year...but hey, there is the Super Bowl. That's not just a SuperTech conflict, its the consolation prize for those who'll miss out I suppose.

Hats off to Todd and crew for continuing this amazing weekend (is this the 13th year??). :beer

I too hope that they consider expanding the size

of the event.

I've gone the last two years, and was hoping to go again this year... but alas, i'm also on the waiting list. :cry

I know of more than a few people this year that are in the same position.

Ya know you are on to a GOOOOD thing when...

You know it good when...that snowy picture from last year is posted and the event still gets sold out in 4 days!

Its not like its held in Barbados or some such warm clime.

Annap,

Excellent point. Why will I happily fly from San Diego to PA during February next year, and the year after, and the year after? Because it's the SuperTech.

-Mike V. / San Diego
