Rear Wheel Link Bearings

The notice from BMW to the NHTSA states that the rear suspension linkage bearings, not the front bearings as the NHTSA has published, are involved.

Here is the document link:

http://nhthqnwws111.odi.nhtsa.dot.g...s/Public/Recalls/2010/V/RCDNN-10V488-5725.pdf

I am sure this will be sorted out soon, but in the meantime the link bearings should be checked when we service the bikes. This link is located below the bottom of the shock absorber.

Received my recall notice last week and it is for the rear suspension bearing.

Was told to bring it in ASAP, -25C and 4 feet of snow, I told them to come get it.:scratch

I bought mine private sale, do I wait for a notice or do I need to contact my local dealer?

We are contacting dealer as both of ours were bought used. Unless you bought it from a dealer and they notified BMWNA....maybe.

Thanks, I'll send an email to the dealer I trust. Not the nearest or second nearest mind you, but one I think will actually do what needs to be done..........
