Stabil is probably sufficient. But since it takes about 30 seconds to drop a float bowl, dump the gas, and reinstall the float bowl, why not do it. That way you don't need to worry at all about gumming up a jet.

Hi There!
This what I have done and recomend here in the northern climate:
1. Fill the fuel tank and measure the correct amount of Stabilent fuel additive.
2. Change the oil and filter, and make sure you have done so with the engine warmed up and ridden about 10 km's (6 miles). Put a drip pan under the engine. Reason I say this when it gets cold in dry storage, aluminum shrinks and you may or will have have oil/antifreeze seepage.
3. Take the fuel out of the float bowls and let stand to air dry for 5 - 10 minutes. Replace float bowls.
4. Take the battery out, trickle charge for about 6 - 8 hours monthly, placed on wood and not a cement floor in the basement.
5. Cover the machine is in cold storage (or even warm). Say Good Night, give your machine a kiss and say"See ya in the spring!"
Next spring the battery is freshly charged, turn the petcocks, pull the choke and hit the start button. May take a few rev's but the machine will fire up and your ready for another seasons adventure!
