DIY Tank Utility Belt

I've been wanting a 'pouch' for the left side of the tank to keep the camera so I can make an easy grab. An ammo pouch was purchased at the local surplus and I commenced to rigging up a garter belt for the tank to hang the pouch. With the find of a canvas bag in the garage, the garter belt evolved.

Pouch. Perfect as the straps had snaps for easy removal and mounting to the belt.

Left side. Horizontal straps are for the ammo pouch. I sewn the straps on a piece of canvas which turned into a slim pocket when sewn onto the tank pad.

Right side. From the canvas bag I lifted a side pocket which fit the tank perfectly.

Really happy how this came out. With the ammo pouch removable and a pocket on the right, this is a nice addition that will stay on tank.

a strip of the "no skid" stuff for your kitchen drawers under each strap might minimize grindage on your paint.

I like your mod...

I think Aerostitch sells tank panniers that look just like those (but you probably got off a lot cheaper)!

haha, it does look a nail is missing. Just found out it's nearly impossible to point with too.

yeah this thing's been working out pretty well. The D rings could be just a tad wider but they do the job. One thing that surprised me is it stays pretty much in place. That non skid stuff may work for that. Take a snip and melt a couple spots on the straps maybe?
