    Stripped valve cover bolts

Damn! I was helping a buddy last night do an oil change & set the valves. Got it all done, checked the torque in the manual, set the wrench & promptly stripped the bolts out! I got the wrong number out of the book... Normally, if they are close, no harm, but when you use 18 Nm instead of 10Nm, you have problems with the soft aluminum... Perma-coil to the rescue...

    Anyone else do this?

My wife posted it on FACEBOOK first...

Have to wait until Monday to get the repair kit... By the way, Perma Cpil kits have a metal installation tool, while Heli Coil kits use a plastic one. Same coils, they are interchangeable, but the tool will last way longer on the Perma Coil ones...

They are M6x1.0. Definitely check out the Perma Coil sets, Federated Auto has them.
