Yes it is --- I was talking to a couple of young guys about 1-liter bikes when they mentioned how cool the new BMW was -- both thought it was a $20,000 + bike because it was a BMW -- when I told them the list price their eyes lit up -- they couldn't believe it.

Outstanding!

Quick question - why did you remove the o-rings from the chain?

My guess would be for less rolling resistance. With O ring chained bikes if you try and spin the back tire by hand your lucky if the tire makes much more than a complete rotation before stopping. In the old days before O rings the tire would make a few turns before stopping.

OK - so you sacrifise some chain life for less resistance - makes sense

Chain Oiler . . . . .

Ridealot offered: Same way you lube any chain.

Is it an automatic oiler or manual?

Qualifying run at Valdosta

Rider is Domonic Anderson. Bike was more stock than that shown earlier... and was running in the low 9s.

BMW has a winner with this machine. I had the pleasure to ride my 08 ZX10R to the dealership and ride the demo RR. The differences were remarkable despite similar weights and such. As most know the sportbike scene is constantly changing and the manufacturers are extremely competetive. It will be interesting to see if BMW is in this portion of the market for the duration or has the RR been a one off to demonstrate technological/engineering competence. In any case all others were caught flat footed. Check out the ZX10R blog: http://www.zx-10r.net/forum/
