I've decided to upgrade the low beam on my 98
to HID in addition to the piaa 1100s I have (mainly
for conspicuity) The local beemer dealer is splitting up cage
sets and selling for $327, ballast is about the size of a
pack of cigs.

I met a guy on a k12lt at the kerrville rally who was using
a bohm(sp) setup that i was impressed with. Can't seem
to google up the source.

Any recommendations or experiences appreciate

I doubt you are going to beat $300-325 for any HID drop-in for a K12. I've never seen them for less than $299.
