Hello, I'm Jim from Danville Il. I have a 1978 R100 /7 and I am saving for a R1200R. Been riding a few years but took some time off(single dad at that time). but now i'm back and ready to go, I missed it a bunch. When stationed over seas (Germany- US Army) I had a R90S and road all over on it.

Hi Jim! Nice to have you here. The forum is a lot of fun and provides a lot of good info. Nice choice on the bike! I am a re-entry rider too. I enjoy riding more now than I did when I was a youngster; not exactly sure why. I own an oilhead and an airhead and appreciate each for what it represents. I wouldn't give up either. You'll like that R1200R. Ride well and ride often!

Hi Jim and welcome back! No airhead here just the later stuff ...I had the earlier version 1100R and loved that bike... I hear the 1200 is even better! Ride safely and maybe we'll see you on the road!

Welcome

Welcome Jim. Yeah, once bitten by the BMW bug, you've always got to have one in your stable. I bought my first BMW 2 years ago, an R1100RT, and sold it a year ago. I've regretted that decision, but now I've got a 2002 R1150RS, which I just bought 3 days ago. I hope you get your R1200R. These are all great bikes. Enjoy your beemer.:wave
