Its coming evening of thesecond day of DC's major snow storm that may well top the record for this area since records have been kept. Here's a few taken with my Canon G9 and Oylmpus Pen EP-1 all in raw mode..

Taken this morning (Feb-6) before starting the first of several shovelings of the driveway and walk

An evergreen out front by the stairs

and some pics out the back of the deck and feeder, by noon we had cleared it four times and put out seed 5 times and have probably 20-30 birds feeding plus the ground feeders under the deck on the patio they are a little fuzzy cause I was shooting thru glass that was spotted with snow and water drops

I think the quote a month ago was that y'all "LOVED the changing seasons " up there:nyah

Watching the news...WOW! all time record in the D.C. area by the time this is finished?

Let's see some photos of those 28 inches.

The most we've had in one shot is 18...wasn't enough to slow us down...us Wisconsinites are hearty.

Having lots of snow plows and snow blowers helps. Big snow in those southern mid-Atlantic states with little equipment makes for big problems the northern states don't have. But from Kansas to Maine, I'll bet most states and cities have blown their snow removal budgets big-time. Expect few repairs and crappy roads for next year as they move money from road repairs to cover snow removal.

25" in Northern Delaware. I spent the day on the couch reading a book. Pictures to post a little later.

buddy said they were under 2 feet in Pittsburgh. WV is in state of emergency, in my neck of the woods we just got alot of rain and couple inches of snow.

Im not complaining...

enjoyed those bird pics RM. Looks like 'light' snow (weight). Enjoy the scene because, lucky you, it won't last. While we have snow down it was modest, frozen, chunky, pain in the ass stuff that's been around a few weeks. One more month and the weather becomes kinder. - Bob

New England has escaped most of the storms so far this year, we got flurries in the Boston area from this latest mid-Atlantic hit. The ground is bare here.

OK, here ya go....

So I got out and about for a bit today after clearing off the last layer of snow from the cars and driveway. Jeanne sent me out for more bird seed, so I took the camera along, just the G9 since the others tend to fog up the lenses going from warm car to cold outside air.
People were starting to get out but some folks really haven't a clue ...
even the main roads still had areas of packed snow which had turned to ice overnight.... please people clear the TOP of your car too!!! Gezzzz

but it WAS pretty out there.....
went out to Rt. 1 stopped at the store then along the top of Neabsco Creek Wildlife Preserve and home.
You can tell how heavy a snow it was from the way some trees are weighted down and some of the piles of snow from removal efforts were over my head.
