Let's see your shop

For the next week, this is all I've got! Moving at the end of the week so hopefully I will have a real garage.

One and Half story 16X24 Saltbox style with barn door. I'm not as tidy as I should be but it is a great spot to tinker and enjoy a cigar. Mechanical things got done in here that I never thought that I could do. Last thing was the steering head bearings on the K. Anyway, a few shots:

I'll resist the urge to post a picture of my dealer's garage...

If I had a garage it would have a sunken motorcycle lift, well stocked frig.Hot tub, tools & tunes, heated area - I can go on. I live in a large city - a driveway & garage is 50K+ added to the cost a a house

Bob, Is that chicken frozen or stuffed?:eat

It's a fake, battery operated critter that bobs his head and makes loud rooster sounds when you clap your hand next to it. Bit of a pain in the ass when some noise around it happens. I have sunglasses on him and call him Casual Rooster. Seems to respond best to Reggae music. My son bought it for me because he figured every garage needs some sort of mascot. - Bob

Sometimes it's a wood shop, sometimes it's a car shop, sometimes it's a bike shop. It has heat, AC and great lights.

My current shop is attached to our new (54 year old) house, and either two cars or one car and a row of bikes wide. Not as big as I'd like, but comfortable and convenient. It also does double duty as both car and bike shop:

Have had everything from a 8X10 shed with a dirt floor...to the dining area of my 400Sq Ft rent house when I was 20. I can appreciate ANY size workspace! When I met Helen and we parked everything we owned at the same place...a 24X24 garage was tight with 9 bikes, a lift and a Crossfire...my Dodge Truck learned to live outdoors ever since. She came with 3 bikes and the Crossfire! :love The Crossfire lives in it's own garage by the house .

But...when we were househunting...the realtor was showing us the view and the house...he casually mentioned "oh yeah. it has a SHOP"...we turned around and saw this. The shop was full of MOPAR Hemi's longblocks and Roadrunners...and a 4 post lift I did not get. Nor is the Travel Trailer ours.

Lot of work since then...the white rock driveway is covered and several ongoing improvements are turning it into a fun place to hang out and do some work! Still adding a bathroom this winter...just have to trench thru the limestone 150" away to tap the drainline... Have the rain catchment system I posted about off this roof and tied into my existing waterlines. Need some better lighting...adequate is all I can say

The first lift area

The second lift added last Spring when I justified it because Helen's 1150 was all apart on the first one. My workbenches also are tad full this time of year with multiple projects happening....never enough bench space...after seeing TheRoss's...I am :blush :laugh:laugh

Our Gear Area...some of it is mine:laugh Oh yeah, the welder down there is HERS!

We had a tech day the first summer we were here and things were still tight from moving and the PO was renting half the shop still

the carlift is stacked with furniture under all of that...he still wouldn't sell it!

Rear of shop with all our stuff...a little more than usual since it's winter

Enclosed room on left is a gym and sauna that I need to visit soon since the couch is used by me more at the moment.

Oh yeah...the Dodge did get to come inside with a hailstorm predicted

ok.... now the bar is just too high! Excellent facility indeed. My shop just got squeezed tighter by putting the Mustang away for the Winter. sigh. As soon as I win the Lotto I'm gonna have one just like yours :p - Bob

Thanks

If I were to build one, it wouldn't have been that big due to today's $$$$...sure was a find though.
