    New England run

Projected trip around New England for the month of September. There is nothing by any means set other than this rough route, just bebop around and see what I stumble across.

I may try and hit up the Finger Lake(?) rally in NY. Other than that I want to check out our "old" country and eat some sea food and heavy stout. If anyone has recommendations of possible routes, sights, food, campgrounds, please send them my way. Primarily camp but I'm always down for cheap lodging. Cheap I mean under $30. I'm frugal.

    Later! h

I PMed you with a nice way to the Finger Lakes Rally with a paddle boat river crossing. RT 125 and 487 in Pennsylvania are great motorcycle roads.

Nice Campsite but you could cross the river by paddle wheel boat and take twisty roads to the Finger Lakes. http://www.ferryboatcampsites.com/

    North Shore of MA

If you're coming through the North Shore of MA, you should pass through the Rt 1 to Rt 127 to Rt 133 to Rt 1 loop out to Gloucester. It is roughly this route:

Very close to Rt 1 (a nice, 2 lane highway) and well worth the side trip.

Not only is it very pretty, it hits some of the best fried seafood places in the area.

    and more.

Enjoy the ride, I do regularly around here.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Looking forward to riding the area. Going to loverly Myrtle Beach with my aunt next week then I get to hit the road again and head north. I'm not sure how much time I'm going to give myself. 2 weeks to start with. May end up more. I totally keep forgetting to get my passport. No bebops to Canada. I don't care for the new boarder law so much. I guess we need to keep terrorists out but what about our fun?!? Locking ourselves in.

I see you are skirting Buffalo, NY. Don't forget to stop in at Frank & Teresa's Anchor bar for the "Original" Buffalo wings! Not the cheapest around but certainly some of the best.

If you drop south thru the Adirondacks and cross into Vermont at the Crown Point bridge, you could head east to VT 100, turn north, and take in one of the nicer stretches of that fantastic road. Say hello to us in Stowe, then continue north on 108 thru Smugglers' Notch and pick up your original route.

We're pretty booked with visiting friends in September (early foliage season) but if you're camping we have a nice meadow for a yard. You just have to be a decent sort who promises to leave my sheep alone.

Cool nights with mostly scattered light by morning, and maybe a brush with a remnant of a hurricane.

    When near Syracuse . . . .

Make a special effort to visit the Dinosaur Bar B Q, As a former resident it is one thing I miss.
The Dinosaur is an institution and rated the #1 BBQ in the US. Not expensive and worth the wait for a table. Lots of motorcycle action there, also!

Last year I went from Lorton VA to Niagara Falls then left there on 104 et al to Ft Ticonderoga, then to Vergennes VT (great place for lunch is the Four Corners, but there are a bunch of nice little restaurants there).
Took the interstate from Burlington to just west of Montpelier, where I rode up 100 (nice road, with great views). Wandered around until I got onto 2 across to Acadia/Bar Harbor. Then down to Boston, NYC, then back to DC.
The only interstate I used on the whole trip was the small part from Burlington, and then from NYC to DC. I just looked at the map each night to see what road went in the general direction I was going, and had a magnificient time. Stopped each day around dinner time when I saw a mom and pop hotel/restaurant.
