If you live anywhere in the vicinity, you gotta do this ride! Starting in Prairie du Chien, WI ride north on Rt 35 to La Crosse, WI where you cross the Mississippi River on either of two bridges. Go have breakfast/lunch in Hokah, MN at the Sidewalk Cafe. Ride south on Rt 26 to Lansing, IA where you get on the Great River Road all the way south to Marquette, IA where you can cross the bridge back into Prairie du Chien, WI. It's about a 125 mile round trip that you'll love with great scenery---river bluffs beside the road nearly the whole route. Now go do it---NOW!!!---I said NOW!!!!

A great route for sure.
Another great ride in that area is 3 out of dubuque to Luxemberg. It runs along a ridge with farmland sloping away away on both sides for miles.
Beautiful when I did it last month.

One should always stop at the Marquette Cafe in Marquette, IA. Have a burger and the chili, it is awesome!

You can't pick a bad road in SW Wisconsin or SE Minnesota... save the slab of course...
