    bearing question

    so,

    the bike is back together.

    the front wheel is aligned
    the transmission is back in
the clutch throw out bearing came in at 10 this morning, i was on the road by 12
even got my right bag mount fixed cheap!

but i have a little question. the throw out bearing came wrapped in plastic with two little metal discs around it. the discs SEEMED like they could be put into the piston/throw out assembly, but i didn't. i'm guessing they were just there to protect the bearing during handling/shipping, right? right

You are right. The bearing allows easy movement between the pistion with the seal and the hard plate that pushes the clutch rod forward. Those discs would defeat the purpose of the bearing.
