Normal. The block/jug joint can be resealed, and should be done at the same time that you install new pushrod seals. So wait until your pushrod seals start leaking. I've had very good results with Yamabond grey sealant.

Wander over to airheads.org and read the various tech articles. There is danger in too much sealant. I was amazed at how little it took.

    Yep!

You can clean the bases and base shims, add a little smear of sealent and it should stop the seeping.

It also helps tp keep your studs torqued to spec. The jugs usually begin leaking after the bolts on the studs get a little loose. Once they begin leaking, sometimes torquing them stops the seepage, sometimes not.

Resist the temptation to stop this minor leaking by torquing or overtorquing
the long studs that pass through the cyl and heads. It is quite easy to
strip these studs out of the block and if you do not know what the PO may
have done before you never mess with them for something as trivial as
minor seeping. spray can engine cleaner from WMT about $1.50 will keep
this area clean for a year/can.

The Airheads List had a bit on this. They recommended Gunk and water, twice a year....
