Wedge?

Personally, I voted for stealing the old BSA moniker "sloper". But I don't have one and therefore I don't get a vote.
 
I usually call them Slant fours.
Nice to see this forum added, no matter what you call it.
 
Just curious where the name wedge came from. Shape of engine? Head design?

If you look at the engine from the side (like on a K12R) the cylinder coming up from the bottom gets wider toward the top. I guess that's why.

That's what I figured, but it seems a lot of inline engines have that shape.
