Forum Frenzy at Spokane - When and Where

The New New Thing The BMW MOA Web Forum gathering and seminar
By Rob Nye and Dave Swider

Have you ever just had to talk with another BMW MOA member? Have you ever wondered if there are Association members in your neck of the woods? If so, the BMW MOA web forum, which represents the latest in member to member communication, is the tool for you. Here members share trip reports, technical tips, riding advice, gear reviews and generally shoot the breeze. This is the latest thinking in member generated content and interaction. Its like a national rally running all year long and its as close as forums.bmwmoa.org!

So far, in the first year of the forums existence, weve had mechanical problems solved, new friends made and, over the winter, a spring track day in the Midwest planned, organized and documented for everybody to see. As the forums membership grows, the level of interaction and camaraderie grows as well.

Our forum members are interested in sharing knowledge and learning all we can about both bikes and each other as members. We invite new riders, new members, new BMW owners and anyone feeling ǣnew. Special invitations are extended to ǣold riders seeking to feel ǣnew. If you have questions, youll find answers here at the New New Thing. We would also like to extend a special invitation to our younger members to come meet us and meet each other. Maybe some of the ǣold members can learn from the ǣnew members.

So gather under the forum banner on Thursday evening at 6pm in the beer garden, keyboards are not required. This isnt a formalized seminar, but rather, a strictly social gathering.

In addition to the New New Thing, the Web Team will be hosting a formal seminar on Friday. Well provide hands on instruction and demonstrate how to use the forum. Topics covered will include setting up a new account, completing your registration, sharing pictures, using smilies and taking advantage of all the features of the forum software. Well also demonstrate our new secure commerce section of the site which offers an ability to change your member information, register for the rally on-line and purchase items from the Country Store. After the demonstrations we will have a presentation on our future plans for the website including a question and answer session.

More details forthcoming as we finalize them! See you there!

I dunno, how many you think will show up?

On a more serious note, I thought in one of the threads it was mentioned that people under 21 could not be in the Beer Garden. Maybe the gathering place could be moved?

    Brad,

FWIW, there are no subscribers to the forum with a birth date after 7/12/83 which would be the cut off for admission to the beer garden.

We will also be having the original concept, the Geezer Free Zone on Friday with a ride to lunch after. More info along with the complete seminar schedule will be released shortly.

You're from Rhode Island, so you know Rob, right? If you've ever been to a Yankee Beemer event, we may have already met.

My favorite... it all depends on the day and the company.

Sometimes it is vodka on the rocks, other times Appletinis, Newcastle Brown Ale, Bud Light, well you get the idea.

I had Negro Modelo and Molson Canadian last night, I enjoyed both. Also had a bit of Rare Breed to sip on too....
