Aerostich boots

Does anyone have any experience with Aerostich combat riding boots.
I am thinking about buying the combat lites, I like the low profile, but not sure about which sole to get. The wedge has a small heel, and is a motocross bottom. Helps to stay on peg.
The cleated sole has small lugs-no heal, maybe better for walking, but will it slip off the peg easier?
Anybody?

I'm sure you'll get a response or two here, but if I may suggest a couple of things.

First, run a search. I'm sure there's been a thread (or least a number of posts) on Aerostich's Combats and Combat Lites. Secondly, I'd check out the Equipment forum at www.advrider.com. I've seen many threads there on those boots, and I'm sure there has been many others that I haven't seen. But make sure to use the search function there, too.

I have the combat lites with the cleated sole and have had no slipping or comfort issues. They are well made and will be very stiff, it takes a long time for them to break in. I would buy another pair but these seem to be in such good shape after four riding seasons I may never need to replace them. Remember they are not insulated and have thick leather this makes them hot in the summer and cold in the winter. A little Sno Seal and they are very waterproof.

I bought the Combat lights last year with the wedge; out of 1-10 scale they rate a 10 in terms of great boots. Other have had break in issues, but mine went on the first time, felt great, and I have no complaints.

The Wedge appears to be considerably less of thickness versus the lug, but stays on the pegs on or off road perfectly. Great boot! Very happy with this Sidi boot, and like them because they arenÔÇÖt covered with "bling" unpretentious boot of superb quality. They are a boot you can wear to work in the office (I do) and nobody knows!

I have the Combat Touring boots with the cleated sole, the '08 riding season was my first with them. They are great boots! They did require significant break in. In fact, I couldn't bend them to shift or brake, so I wore them walking around, to work a few days, until they got flexible enough to ride with. I applied AquaSeal, which was recommended and sold by Aerostich, and they have not "leaked".

Wedge versus Cleat soles

Cleated sole tends to become imbeded with small stones and sand which raise heck with wooden floors in house. If my Combat Lites ever where out I will get wedge sole. I wish a hiking boot type sole was available.

Combat Lites

I got a set of Combat Lites. I teach MSF classes, and wear them on the range; we walk a lot, maybe 10-15 miles per class. Great boots. I waterproofed them with Aquaseal, and they don't leak, and I've been in a few heavy downpours here lately.
