Georgetown, CO, December 2006. Twelve degrees. This is hand held, and I was probably shivering, too. The ice? The road.

Beartooth New Years Day......

I shot this pic of the Beartooth off in the distance (50miles) from my front deck.
Last week the high was 10 below, this week a balmy 34 above.

Cheers!

Mike

Ice along the North Shore of Lake Superior near Duluth, MN

Quiet this day, normally the big lake us grinding it's ice cover to tiny shards and it makes the oddest persistent sound....

1976

From a trip to Beaver Dam, WI in early April, maybe 1976-77 that took a wintery turn.. Perfectly enough, the snow started while having lunch at Barnaby's Cafe in..... (ta-da) WINTER, WIsconsin south of Iron River.. My friends Roxy and Clint had gone out a day or two before.
Met them in Toma, WI after having to ABORT!!! in Wausau, as I recall, due to ice on the roads... We rode until Hastings, MN, and had to get off, we were freezing. We wound up wearing garbage bag 'boots'.

Lots of memories now, there was a pool and a hot tub, none of us had swim suits, but they had a vending machine that dispensed PAPER suits. They only had one size left for women, too large for one gal and too small for the other, so they fought all night to keep them ... on.... Warmth never felt so good...

Memory lane...
