I like 80's tunes:

A program that I quite like is the "Brokenwood" series, found on Acorn.TV. It is about a small town in New Zealand that has various mysteries. The chief detective is Mike Sheppard who favors driving an old car and he listens to music on cassette tapes. The music highlights various New Zealand artists. Several CDs have been issued with compilations of music used in the series.

One of the featured artists is Delaney Davidson. I found this performance by him and it really captures the spirit of this show.

A good show we discovered and have been watching on DVD from Netflix.

I don't recall how I stumbled onto this music vid. But the work to make this music video is incredible.

Several times a week I ride my bike (pedal bicycle, I mean) down to the local YMCA and go swimming. Whilst swimming I listen to music. I use a earbuds and an MP3 player from a company called Underwater Audio. It is useful to choose the right kind of music. Some years back I went to an outdoor concert at the Columbus (Ohio) Zoo. The concert featured The Chieftains and Great Big Sea. It was a wonderful concert and both bands are most excellent. One of the highlights was the Chieftains performing with Great Big Sea. This is the type of music that is perfect for swimming laps (for me).

I downloaded Joanne Shaw Taylor and Samantha Fish. Headliners Friday night at the Montana Rally. Both ladies are quite talented.

I agree that The Cactus Blossoms are quite interesting. After listening I figured that they must be from Minneapolis, Texas :)

Caught these guys at a small venue in Philly a couple of years ago. Nice to see that they are getting some commercial success. Sound really good in a live setting.

I am not much for cruises (on the water!), but this would have been interesting to attend - -
