I still remember the announcement of Lowell George's death. I was listening to WBCN out of Boston when the DJ-Mark Parenteau came on and said something like...I have a sad announcement to make Lowell George from Little Feat has died....too many ham and cheese sandwiches and too much cocaine.
As for Ry Cooder-that's some more great music. He did the soundtrack for the movie Southern Comfort and exhibited some great playing. Jerry Douglas is a wizz with the Dobro but I like the improvisation of Cooder. More great stuff Jim! Gary

I am listening to the dog snore. Who'd have thought this little dog can snore loud enough to rattle the windows! Geeze Louise!

Working through a backlog of podcasts from the Pritzker Military Library. Highlight of today was an interview with MoH recipient Capt. Paul Bucha.

Alfie Boe, singing "Bring Him Home" in Les Miserables:

I'm still trying to figure out why I didn't like Les Mis, the first time around, when I saw it in San Francisco...:banghead

Alfie started out as an apprentice mechanic at the TVR factory in Blackpool. While polishing cars he would sing to entertain his co workers, and this drew the attention of a TVR client who had connections in the music industry.
