Wow, that is a formidable collection of stringed instruments! Can you name the makers and vintages for us?

Tony Rice is a Rounder Records bluegrass artist. I remember hearing the cut "Manzanita" back in the 80s.

This guy is a SERIOUS guitarist. :thumb

Man, your living room looks like my shop! I love it. I'm an hour from the ovation factory and usually visit once a year. Fender bought them last January and they have moved Guild and Tacoma from the west coast into the old mill here in CT where they build the Ovations. Can't wait till the next visit...

Most are fairly modern guitars the lighter ovation I bought new in 1970 a nice Gold tone Banjo and the little mandolin is a 1914 Gibson A model nice old piece. Also Winchester 73 on mantel in case things get out of hand.

Trying to figure out how to post the pics .. .. Seems I can only do one?? Well, it's part of what I've been listening to today.

RUSH....."Best of" CD that my son got me for my B-day. Gotta love a drummer who rides a B-mer!

The other cd I was jammin to was their new one - Snakes and Arrows. For some reason, I could only post one jpeg [in my earlier post]. But I note others have had 2-5. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Seen Rush eight times back in my youth.
Before they were successful and definitely took some flack.
Geddy's voice is, after all, an acquired taste.
Is it just me or is he starting to look like a kitchen witch?
The latest show on cable (Palladium) was cool.
Anyone else have the B&W Ricky 4001 and the Ampeg SVT?
I was rockin' back then.

Today? Arcade Fire - Neon Bible. Nothing short of sublime.

Tomorrow it could be Miles Davis, Radiohead, The Beatles, Willie Nelson, Kings of Leon (old-not the new crap), Mozart, Cash, Sonic Youth, etc., etc.

listening to Opeth because of Wiki Nathan??

i was dabbling in some Swedish stuff recently

Nope. I've been down with Opeth since they released Blackwater Park. Even met the guys. They're cool.

Mayhem? Man, I'll bet we're some of the only ones in the MOA that know about bands like that. Haha. Can't say I really care for them, though. But, if you want some siiiiiick Scandinavian metal, check out Emperor, or specifically;

But, today, I felt like reliving high school.
